Coronavirus – Our Measures

Broadly speaking:

Our shipping company has – not just now, but always – taken special measures to deal with special situations. Therefore, you can be assured that we have taken all precautions in consultation and advice from experts to ensure that our passengers can travel safely.

In the past, we have already carried out a high-quality cleaning process on our ships and in our buildings which is effective against viruses. In the current special situation, we are closely working with the Robert Koch Institute and other authorities to coordinate our additional measures and adapt them to current developments. Here is an excerpt of the additional measures we have taken in response to the spread of the coronavirus.

In General

  • Frequent hand washing protects! The Robert Koch Institute and the World Health Organization (WHO) recommend washing your hands with soap and clean running water for at least 20 seconds. Do not forget the back of your hand between your fingers and under your fingernails and dry your hands with a clean towel or let them air dry.
  • We have informed and trained our employees and crews to maintain good health and how to proceed in the event of illness and / or suspicion.
  • We are constantly in contact with the relevant authorities to be able to take further measures at any time depending on the situation in order to achieve the best possible safety for our guests, employees and crew members.

On our Ships

  • We have increased the number of disinfection facilities on board, as well as the signage to encourage passengers to wash and disinfect their hands more often and to do so according to a precise guide.
  • We have further increased the frequency of cleaning, especially the use of disinfecting wipes to clean our kitchen worktops, coffee machines, open counters, handrails, toilet handles and toilet seats.

At our Ticket Counters

  • We have extended the disinfection possibilities at our ticket counters and in the waiting halls.
  • We have increased the information signs for passengers to promote personal health and safety.
  • We have increased the use of disinfectants in our toilets, offices, desks and ticket counters, as well as signage to remind passengers of health and safety when washing their hands.
