Giving back and being a good neighbor to the regions in which we conduct our business and shipping routes is one of our most important concerns as part of our program “FRS Cares”. This year our Christmas donation is going to Morocco.
The "RömöExpress" began operating between Havneby and List on Sylt on Tuesday 12th November. The second Sylt ferry supports the "SyltExpress" in connecting the island of Sylt with the mainland. In November, Sylt residents and holidaymakers can use the ferry every hour. Therefore, the shipping company is expanding its capacity on the Havneby - List route on Sylt by over 150 %.
For our Cypriot colleagues it has already become a beloved tradition: From time to time the FRS Shipmanagement team particpates in beach clean-ups in Limassol. The company supports their engagement by enabling them to participate also during regular office hours.
FRS HanseFerry offers exclusive shuttle service for running event
Our subsidiary FRS HanseFerry used their ferry MV „Kleine Freiheit“ to provide an exclusive shuttle service for participants and spectators of the 17th edition of the fun run half-marathon “Blankeneser Heldenlauf” on September 1st, 2019.
Environmentally friendly with LNG between Sylt and Römö
Flensburg • The Flensburg shipping group FRS, to which the Rømø-Sylt Linie belongs, buys another car ferry for your connection to Sylt. The shipping company is thus expanding its capacity on the route Havneby-List by more than 150 %. In November 2019 the ferry "Tresfjord" will start operations as the second Sylt ferry.
Syltferry participates in German-Danish INTERREG safety exercise
Once again, our subsidiary had the opportunity to prove that keeping up with international safety standards is just the beginning: On September 18th and 19th, our colleagues took part in a large-scale German-Danish INTERREG safety and environmental protection exercise.
Since 2016, our colleagues from Clipper Vacations have been able to offer homeless children and their parents a special moment of rest and relaxation in cooperation with the Seattle based charity organisation Mary’s Place. Over the course of two days in June 2018, families were welcomed aboard the “San Juan Clipper” again to enjoy a laid-back day on the Salish Sea and a visit to the picturesque town of Friday Harbour.
Weiße Flotte: New solar ship christened at Autostadt Wolfsburg
Wolfsburg / Stralsund, Germany • On Tuesday, August 29th, 2017, the sixth solar catamaran of the Weiße Flotte has been christened "Aluna" at the jetty of Autostadt Wolfsburg. Mrs. Elisabeth Pötsch, president of the International Circle of Friends Wolfsburg e.V. and wife of the chairman of the supervisory board of Volkswagen AG, acted as godmother for the ship. Fans of Autostadt had been suggesting over 450 names for the vessel. In an online voting, the name of a 16-year-old schoolgirl was selected.
Clipper Vacations donates USD 150,000 to support protection of local sealife
As a lead supporting partner of regional nonprofit organisation SR3 (Sealife Response + Rehab + Research), Clipper proudly donated USD 150,000 to advance the health and welfare of marine life in the Pacific Northwest.
Flensburg • Good teamwork pays off: On October 1st and 2nd, the company sports championship sailing, called German Company Cup (“Deutscher Company Cup 2016“) was held on the Flensburg Fjord at Flensburg-Sonwik in the far north of Germany. The FRS Racing Team of the Foerde Reederei Seetouristik came out on top of the list.
Weiße Flotte starts visitor transport service in the Wolfsburg Autostadt
Stralsund • On January 1st, 2015, the "Weiße Flotte" (White Fleet) will start running the visitor transport within the Wolfsburg Autostadt theme park. The Weiße Flotte is a subsidiary of the Förde Reederei Seetouristik from Flensburg which runs maritime services all over the world. Three ships will be in service for the visitor transport in Wolfsburg.
Weiße Flotte will run four passenger ferries powered by solar energy in Berlin in 2014
Stralsund • The "Weiße Flotte GmbH" (White Fleet) from Stralsund will run four passenger ferry lines for the "Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG)" in Berlin. The vessels are solar powered and will be commissioned for the public transport service in Germany's capital from 2014 on.
