FRS Helgoline offers additional trips with the HSC "Halunder Jet" from Brunsbüttel to Cuxhaven and Helgoland from 03.04.2024

FRS Helgoline has been transporting passengers to the island of Heligoland for 40 years and is celebrating its anniversary this year. Based in Flensburg, the shipping company is expanding its services this year by adding Brunsbüttel as another departure port alongside Hamburg and Cuxhaven. Tim Kunstmann, Managing Director of FRS Helgoline, commented on this development: "We are pleased to offer our passengers departures to Heligoland from Schleswig-Holstein in addition to Hamburg and Lower Saxony. This significantly reduces travel time to the offshore island from many regions of Schleswig-Holstein, and marks the beginning of a new chapter in FRS Helgoline's 40-year history."

The crossing time to Heligoland with the HSC "Halunder Jet" from Brunsbüttel is approximately two hours. Since 2023, the high-speed catamaran docks at the inner harbor, allowing passengers to make more effective use of their time by arriving directly in the island center. The regular season for the "Halunder Jet" starts from March 15, 2024, with departures from Hamburg and Cuxhaven to Heligoland. Departures from Brunsbüttel will be offered from April 3, 2024, to November 3, 2024, every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Additionally, guests have the opportunity to reach Cuxhaven within 40 minutes by catamaran, where they can, for example, spend a day trip for €39.90 per adult. Tickets are now available online at www.frs-helgoline.de or at the company's ticket counters. Currently, there is a 20% online discount on all trips from Brunsbüttel until March 31, 2024.

Schedule from April 3, 2024, to November 3, 2024 (Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday):

To realize this expansion of the schedule, FRS Helgoline has purchased the former ferry terminal of Elbferry in Brunsbüttel. In the coming weeks, it will be modified for catamaran operation, with the original car ramp being fully preserved. Negotiations for the purchase of the pier had been ongoing for some time. Discussions initially focused on acquiring individual spare parts, but gradually evolved towards the purchase of the entire pier and the associated area. "We would like to thank the previous owner for the opportunity to acquire the ferry terminal. Further gratitude for supporting this purchasing process goes to the Ministry of Economic Affairs in Kiel, the district administrator of Dithmarschen, Stefan Mohrdieck, and the Mayor of Brunsbüttel, Martin Schmedtje," Kunstmann stated. FRS Helgoline's long-term goal is to develop traffic at the pier in Brunsbüttel and its surrounding area.
