    FRS Signs Construction Contract With AUSTAL

    Flensburg • A new ship for Heligoland: The Shipping Group Förde Reederei Seetouristik (FRS), based in the North of Germany, and the Australian shipyard AUSTAL have signed a contract for the construction of a catamaran for the Heligoland traffic of FRS. The 56.4 m long new construction has been specially developed for Heligoland traffic and can carry up to 692 passengers, who can look forward not only to the generous sun decks but also to the comfortable journey. The 35 knot-fast double hull ship will be delivered in spring 2018 to replace the "Halunder Jet" that has been in operation since 2003 on the Hamburg – Wedel – Cuxhaven – Heligoland route.
