Flensburg • A new ship for Heligoland: The Shipping Group Förde Reederei Seetouristik (FRS), based in the North of Germany, and the Australian shipyard AUSTAL have signed a contract for the construction of a catamaran for the Heligoland traffic of FRS. The 56.4 m long new construction has been specially developed for Heligoland traffic and can carry up to 692 passengers, who can look forward not only to the generous sun decks but also to the comfortable journey. The 35 knot-fast double hull ship will be delivered in spring 2018 to replace the "Halunder Jet" that has been in operation since 2003 on the Hamburg – Wedel – Cuxhaven – Heligoland route.
Flensburg • Good teamwork pays off: On October 1st and 2nd, the company sports championship sailing, called German Company Cup (“Deutscher Company Cup 2016“) was held on the Flensburg Fjord at Flensburg-Sonwik in the far north of Germany. The FRS Racing Team of the Foerde Reederei Seetouristik came out on top of the list.
Flensburg / Miami • FRS plans to start daily operations between Miami, Florida and Bimini, Bahamas this summer. For the new route, the high speed catamaran “San Gwann” was acquired. The vessel carries 427 passengers and reaches a speed of 38 knots, making the trip from port to port in only 2 hours.

Henceforth, Meyer & Meyer's trucks will regularly use the new FRS ferry “Al Andalus Express” between Motril (Spain) and Tanger-Med (Morocco).
Tarifa, Spain • By commissioning another vessel for the Motril – Tangier Med route, the FRS strengthens their commitment for the most interesting freight market on the Strait Of Gibraltar. The "Al Andalus Express" is a modern, efficient ship that after an extensive reconstruction will set new standards on this attractive route regarding speed and comfort. The Motril – Tangier Med service is operated by FRS since January, 2016.
Flensburg, Germany • The Förde Reederei Seetouristik (FRS), based in Flensburg, Germany, has engaged the Canadian Len Roueche in a part-time consulting role. The former CEO of the Interferry organisation will help FRS identify new business opportunities.
Seattle / Washington, USA • Clipper and FRS today announce that FRS has acquired a majority interest in Clipper. With the acquisition Clipper will expand its Canadian service. Additionally, with Clipper’s support FRS will launch a new ferry service from Florida to Cuba, pending government guidance and approval.
Tarifa • Beginning mid-January, FRS Iberia will commence traffic on their new shipping line between the ports of Motril in Spain und Tanger Med in Morokko. The route via Motril is an interesting alternative connection between Europe and Northern Africa since it is convieniently located on the so-called "Mediterranean motorway" A-7.
