Start of the season for the ‘Halunder Jet’: High-speed catamaran sets course for Heligoland again.

The new season has begun: Today, the high-speed catamaran ‘Halunder Jet’ set sail for Heligoland for the first time this year. With the start of the season, the fast connection to the high seas island is once again available daily – and has two new features this year: There is a special offer for families on Wednesdays and travellers from Schleswig-Holstein benefit from additional departures from Brunsbüttel.
New family day on Wednesdays: children travel free of charge
In the 2025 season, every Wednesday will be Family Day: parents pay the regular fare, while up to three accompanying children up to the age of 14 travel free of charge. A 40% discount applies for the fourth child. But that's not all: Heligoland itself also celebrates Family Day on this day. Numerous island partners have special offers and discounts in store. On board the ‘Halunder Jet’ there is a special children's menu for this day and also a free colouring book, which is guaranteed to make children's eyes light up and ensure an entertaining crossing.
Brunsbüttel as a maritime hub with free parking spaces directly at the jetty
Since last season, the ‘Halunder Jet’ has also been docking in Brunsbüttel and is even offering up to four weekly connections from Schleswig-Holstein in this year. Travellers benefit from free parking spaces directly at the jetty and an on-site ticket office, which offers personal advice and spontaneous bookings.
Travellers can also reach the North Sea spa town of Cuxhaven or the Hanseatic city of Hamburg from Brunsbüttel in no time at all via the Elbe. Regular departures take place at on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Additional trips are offered on Tuesdays from July to September.
Offshore adventure: Meerwind Süd | Ost
For technology and nature enthusiasts, it is worth taking a look at the exclusive excursions to the ‘Meerwind Süd | Ost’ offshore wind farm. Dates are 5 June, 3 July, 7 August and 4 September 2025. The tours offer unique insights into the world of renewable energies.
5th FRS Helgoline Music Cruise
The FRS Helgoline Music Cruise is taking place again this year and is entering its fifth edition at 2025. The event has established itself as a highlight for music lovers and island enthusiasts. A well-known artist has already been confirmed and fans of the Music Cruise can look forward to a unique musical experience. Further details on the date, line-up and ticket sales will be announced shortly.
New start to the season, proven comfort
This season, the HSC ‘Halunder Jet’ also stands for a fast, comfortable and reliable connection to Heligoland. The modern catamaran takes up to 680 passengers quickly and comfortably to their destination. With large panoramic windows, a 3D sound system and on-site catering service, even the crossing is a maritime experience. Since 2023, the ‘Halunder Jet’ has docked in Heligoland's inland port, allowing passengers to arrive directly in the centre of the island. This saves the journey from the outer harbour and allows more time to explore the island.
