FRS and Mercy Ships: A Partnership Bringing Hope and Healing Across the Seas

Halunder Jet and Mercy Ship sail across the sea

Since 2005, FRS has been proud to support Mercy Ships, the international charity that operates the world’s largest civilian hospital ships. These floating hospitals deliver free surgeries, medical training, and capacity building to communities that often lack access to safe healthcare. For nearly two decades, our partnership has combined maritime expertise with humanitarian commitment, helping to bring hope and healing to those most in need.

FRS Contributions to Mercy Ships

As one of Mercy Ships’ many partners, FRS offers support that goes beyond sponsorship.
While Mercy Ships delivers extraordinary services to coastal communities, their life-changing work is still not widely known. That is why FRS is actively supporting Mercy Ships in raising visibility and spreading awareness of their mission. One way we do this is by sharing their video message throughout the FRS group, ensuring that both employees and passengers can learn about and engage with this vital cause.

Beyond awareness, FRS also welcomes applications from both employees and passengers interested in volunteering with Mercy Ships. By opening the door to these opportunities, we hope to connect people with meaningful ways to contribute their skills to a global humanitarian mission.

Why This Matters

Around half of the world’s population lives within 160 kilometers of a coast, making hospital ships a uniquely effective way to reach those in need. Mercy Ships brings state-of-the-art medical care directly to underserved communities, while training local healthcare professionals to build lasting capacity. FRS is honoured to play a role in amplifying this mission and people to join in. Together with Mercy Ships, FRS continues to sail towards a shared goal: delivering health, dignity, and hope to communities that need it most.
