FRS Baltic

Travel along the historical “Königslinie” to Sweden in just 2.5 h

In the summer of 2020 a new ferry line FRS Baltic was founded by the FRS Group. The ferry line connects the southern coast of Sweden with the beautiful Baltic Sea island of Rügen in record time.

By using a modern high-speed jet, FRS can greatly reduce the journey time of the historically grown "Königslinie". The route now only takes two and a half hours in total. This will enable FRS to revive the old "Königslinie" to Sweden and offer another attractive ferry operation to the region of Rügen and Skåne (southern Sweden).

The fast ferry route not only allows travelers to have more time to spend on their holidays, but also makes day trips and weekend trips suddenly worthwhile. This opens up completely new possibilities for holidaymakers. The respective ferry ports are not only cleverly connected to the local traffic network, but are also worthwhile as destinations for day trips. Sassnitz on Rügen offers a varied old town and the famous chalk cliffs are also easily accessible. The ferry port in Sweden is the Trelleborg.

The high-speed catamaran used on this route can reach a top speed of 44 knots. However, for ecological reasons and for increased travel comfort, this speed is not set for the crossing. Nevertheless, the modern catamaran drastically reduces the travel time and takes only two and a half hours. This makes the new line the fastest ferry connection between Germany and Sweden.
