High Sea Island Heligoland
The fast and modern way to get to Heligoland
FRS Helgoline has connected Germany's only offshore island to the mainland since 1984. The two high-speed catamarans serving Heligoland, the "Halunder Jet" and "San Gwann“, are the fastest way to reach the island. The new vessel " Halunder Jet“ (built 2017/18) is unique in its modern design and its state-of-the-art technology. Passengers enjoy not only a GPS controlled entertainment system which includes information about the sights along the journey but also an LED lighting show and a 3D sound system for a varied travel experience. It was built especially for travelling on the North Sea: with special attention to comfort and seaworthiness. A motion damping system reduces the ship movements to a minimum and the salons were built to provide the best possible service.
During the crossing at a maximum speed of 35 knots, passengers can enjoy the view from the panoramic windows and be pampered by our on-site gastronomic service. Via the free WiFi, they have the opportunity to browse hundreds of online magazines. There is also a play corner on board for children.
The two catamarans of FRS Helgoline connect Hamburg, Cuxhaven and Heligoland daily from March / April to October. The island offers its visitors spectacular nature and high-quality, tax-free shopping. FRS Helgoline is the market leader in the Heligoland trade and carries 186,000 passengers annually.
